The brown plush tiger I bought recently was meant to replace an identical one I'd lost, which I'd been give three years ago, soon after my son was born. (We found the old one eventually, so now he has two.) For much of his life, my son has adored this stuffed animal and he takes it everywhere. It is the perfect size and feel for a baby, toddler, or preschooler. It has pretty much kept its shape through multiple washings. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the stripes washed off fairly soon, but not the black on the ears or tail. (I wash the tiger in the "hand wash" cycle of my machine, usually in cold water, with color-care Woolite.) Another of my children has the white version of the same model of tiger, and its stripes washed off quickly too. So, I highly recommend this stuffed animal as a gift for little kids! But if there's any way its makers can make the stripes more durable, I hope they will.
